The first pictures of the Peugeot 208 Facelift have emerged online, thanks to a copy of French magazine Auto Journal that has… fallen into the wrong hands. Expected to hit the market in March 2015, this updated supermini will undoubtedly bow at the Geneva Motor Show.
Because they don't test at the Nurburgring like everybody else, French carmakers do a much better job of keeping their cars secret. But we knew a facelift for the 208 was on its way, especially since the model dates back to 2011.

Hiding out disappointment with the facelift is really hard. Changes are minimal at best, with minute upgrades for the headlights, grille and the surrounds of the fog lights. Around the back, only 308-inspired taillights with 3 claw strikes lift the design. The interior is even worse, but Peugeot are apparently going to improve the quality of the materials used.

The bright orange paint and black accent are most likely part of some sort of special edition, so even though they're nice, getting excited is kind of hard. And in any case, the 208 already has the widest paint palette of any car in its class. Could the relatively low sales volume be leaving the development budget dry? Could be.

These pictures we received from the Wordscoop forum ties in nicely with our earlier report that suggested a 208 GT warm hatch will debut in 2015. Look for slightly beefier bumpers and around 150 horsepower, maybe even 165, from a 1.6-liter turbo engine. It will compete with other diluted performance models, like the Polo Blue GT and the new Opel Adam S.
