Because the brand new Opel Corsa is based on the previous model's platform and has the same roof pillars, a van model was able to be developed in record time. The covers have just been taken off the 2015 Corsavan at the Brussels Motor Show today and the company is already taking orders for what looks like a sexy little delivery car.
Two types of engines are being made available. There's a single 1.4-liter gasoline available as an entry model, joined by two 1.3-liter turbodiesels, delivering 70 or 95 HP of power and 190 Nm (140 lb-ft) of torque.

All are supposed to comply with Euro 6 regulations and are more efficient than before, but the real headline is that the high-end 1.3 model consumes just 3.3 l/100km combined, equivalent to 88 g/km. The servicing intervals also represent an economical advantage. Main services intervals have been set to every two years or 60.000 km (whatever comes first) with an interim service interval of every 30.000 km or yearly.

The load bay of the 2015 Corsavan is about the same size as before at 920 liters, but the maximum payload capacity has been increased by 21 kg to 571 kg, Opel says. As standard, the car comes with a steel floor, a half-height steel bulkhead that rises to about shoulder-level load-resistant lashing eyes to tie down things. You can also order a steel mesh, a rubber floor mat that resist water and a four-piece load compartment cover.

Note-worthy standard kit includes City <ode, which increases electric power steering assistance to make parking easier, and Hill Start Assist, which keeps the brakes engaged for about two seconds so you don't accidentally roll the car back in stop-start traffic on an incline.

Of course, you can order pretty much anything available on the regular Corsa, including Blind Spot Alert, Opel Eye front camera, with Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, Following Distance Indication and Forward Collision Warning.
