Sebastien Loeb and his Peugeot may have been the fastest to run up this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, but the true excitement came from the cars in the Supercar Paddock. Among these production (or production-intent) supercars that took on the legendary Hillclimb, the 2015 Nissan GT-R NISMO Time Attack proved to be the fastest.
Despite going up against some of the world’s most elite supercars, the newest addition to the GT-R lineup proved to be up to the challenge. With Jann Mardenborough behind the wheel, the GT-R NISMO Time Attack crossed the finish line with a time of 49.27 seconds meaning that it was quicker up the 1.16-mile track than cars like the Porsche 918, Noble M600 and Lexus LFA. Not impressed? Well, this run also happened to just 1.22 seconds slower than the time Mardenborough laid down in the GT3-spec GT-R NISMO, which had a time of 48.05.

The 2015 Nissan GT-R NISMO is the ultimate GT-R pumping out 600 horsepower more than 480 lb-ft of torque. Adding the Time Attack goodies helps the GT-R NISMO dominate the track, which it’s now shown at the Nürburgring and Goodwood. This package adds improved aerodynamics, reduced curb weight and specially tuned suspension. In addition to its stellar performance at Goodwood, the GT-R NISMO Time Attack currently holds the lap time record for a production car at the Nürburgring with a time of 7 minutes, 8.679 seconds.

We will be disappointed if Nissan doesn’t release its own video focusing on the record-breaking run, but until then, you can check out the official video released from Goodwood. It only shows a brief portion of the GT-R’s run (starting at the 3:39 mark), but there are no boring parts of the video… including watching the Pagani Huayra as it utilizes every millimeter of track space.
