MV Agusta has revealed the new additions to the Brutale 800 line-up, and after yesterday’s Brutale 800 RR, it’s time to welcome the Dragster version. Like it was expected, given the power delivery update of the Brutale 800 RR, the Dragster 800 RR is an 140-horsepower machine.
The power increase over the initial models is rather significant, as the base version of the Brutale machines could only produce 125 hp at 11,600 revs. The peak power figure of the 2015 MV Agusta Brutale Dragster 800 RR arrives at a noticeably higher rev limit of 13,100. At the same time, the 8,600 rpm, 81 Nm (59.7 lb-t) peak torque of the basic Brutale was replaced by 86 Nm (63.4 lb-ft) at 10,100 revs, telling a story of more aggressive riding intended for these RR beasts.

Wire-spoked rims look spectacular

One of the most particular features of the new 2015 MV Agusta Brutale Dragster 800 RR is the presence of wire spoked wheels instead of the sportsbike-classic cast ones. Introducing a somewhat retro design some claim is in contrast with the highly modern and aggressive nature of the bike, these wheels are definitely going to turn a lot of heads.

Further stylish updates include anodized red fork legs, red cylinder heads and hubs, and red accents on the spoke nipples and front miniature cowl.

Other spectacular upgrades over the rest of the bikes in the segment are brought in by the bar-end mount mirrors. Not only can they be flipped for better aerodynamics on the track, but their mounts also mimic the brake lever guards which can be seen on World Superbike and MotoGP prototypes, as well, adding to the overall racey vibe.

MVICS 2.0 and both-ways quickshifting as standard

The 2015 MV Agusta Brutale Dragster 800 RR will arrive with the second-generation MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) as standard. MVICS is a comprehensive electronic system which provides better management over the engine response and behavior, allowing the rider to tailor the bike’s character to his or her riding style.

Mikuni ride-by-wire, torque control across the four mappings (Sport, Normal, Rain and Custom), while engine parameters, such as response, rev limiter, engine torque response, throttle sensitivity and engine braking can also be tweaked and saved. Of course, the Brutale Dragster 800 RR is equipped with 8-level traction control, quickshifting for both up- and downshinfting. Bosch 9 Plus ABS, Rear Wheel Lift-up Mitigation (RLM) and an adjustable hydraulic steering damper are also on the menu.

The Dragster 800 RR will be delivered in Pearl Shock Red/Pearl Ice White or Pearl Shock Red/Carbon Metallic Black liveries, with color-matching rims. The dry weight is 167 kg (368 lb) and the tank can hold 16.6 liters (4.4 US gal) of fuel. The bikes will arrive with a €13,490 price tag (Italy). Check out the attached PDF for more detailed tech specs.

Again, the sizzling hot 2015 MV Agusta Brutale Dragster 800 RR looks like a machine built for solo high-paced road and track fun, as the miniature passenger seat barely offers enough place for casual urban rides at city speeds. Yes, the passenger foot pegs are there, but only just.
