When the sixth-generation of Ford’s iconic pony car was unveiled back in December 2013, the modern design cues blew everyone’s mind. But this aftermarket build from RTR is going to be even more exciting to look at than the standard 2015 ‘Stang.
Teased for the very last time before its official debut later today, the 2015 Mustang RTR will join driftmeister Vaughn Gittin Jr’s 2015 Ford F-150 drift truck at the SEMA show in Las Vegas. The joint effort of Ford Racing and Vaughn Gittin Motorsport, this aggressive muscle car is slated to go on sale in January 2015, with deliveries to follow soon after.
Check out those triangular front radiator grille ornaments and tell me you don’t want them in your life! If those don’t float your boat as much as they do for me, maybe the 2015 Mustang RTR's power domed hood is more of your cup of tea. All in all, the front is all things to all gearheads that want a little bit of specialness to their Ford-badged ponies.
In terms of mechanicals, RTR will offer their interpretation of the 2015 Mustang in either 2.3-liter EcoBoost or 5-liter V8 guise. Without any proper figures, our guess is that the Ford Racing go-faster bits and bobs will offer minor increases over the EcoBoost and V8’s standard figures of 310 horsepower / 320 lb-ft (433 Nm) and 435 horsepower / 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of twist, respectively. Think of 10+ ponies for the 2.3L EcoBoost RTR and over 25 horsepower for the Spec 2 RTR Mustang and its glorious Coyote V8.

Those styling elements will also be offered through the Mustang RTR website as aftermarket parts
As for the rest of the exterior, the previous teaser shot of the 2015 Mustang RTR shows a big boot lid spoiler joined by an aerodynamic diffuser with side splitters and center strakes incorporated in the rear bumper. The company previously mentioned on its official social media account that “our #MustangRTR Spec 2 and #Spec5Concept were fully tested by Vaughn Gittin Jr and are #readytorock #SEMA.”In terms of mechanicals, RTR will offer their interpretation of the 2015 Mustang in either 2.3-liter EcoBoost or 5-liter V8 guise.
