Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet Rendered

For those of you who are wondering why they are looking at an S-Class with no roof, let us tell you that Mercedes is putting all of its gigantic and very expensive flagship ostrich eggs in one basket and putting an "S" badge on them.

The scheme became officially official today, when a full production version of the S-Class Coupe was revealed. As our spyshots would indicate, the move is being followed up with a flagship convertible based on the same platform and featuring the same toys.

Speaking of toys, the S-Cabriolet will eclipse the E-Class equivalent using Swarovski crystals in its headlights and a suspension system that tilts to limit the body roll in the corners.

Just a few hours after the official press photos came out, we have the first rendering of an S500 Cabriolet, thanks to Evren Milano. Overall, it's a looker, but the front bumper is taken from some sort of S-Class body kit and doesn't do the car justice.

Mercedes will launch the S-Cabriolet next year, so there's plenty of time for renderings, speculation and photoshop tuning until then.
