If the overall stance of the upcoming 2015 Mercedes-Benz MLC (C292) crossover was supposed to resemble that of a Bulldog, we think it is safe to say that the designers have more than succeeded.
As the adjacent spy photos clearly depict, the BMW X6-fighter from Stuttgart took every macho styling bit that was found on the first generation of its Bavarian competitor and exaggerated it to the max, while also giving it some traditional Mercedes-Benz features.

We can't say that we don't like it, but in our view an off-road(ish) version of the Mercedes-Benz CLS would have looked a little bit better, or at least it would have offered a more fluid stance.

Another somewhat disappointing visual aspect that can be noticed is the apparent lack of frameless door windows, which the Concept Coupe SUV had but the production version switched to regular framed windows for some reason.

Apart from that, the future MLC will most definitely win the award for being the most butch-looking Mercedes-Benz of the entire lineup, since most design details simply scream power and respect – starting from the huge and meaty wheels and continuing with the “getouttamyway” front look or the almost disturbingly small ratio between the greenhouse and the bodywork.

Engine-wise, the 2015 “five-door coupe SUV” from Mercedes-Benz will include most of the powerplants from the M-Class – which is also about to receive a major mid-cycle facelift at about the same time and is based on the same platform.

A MLC 63 AMG with the 585 hp (577 bhp) and 900 Nm (664 lb ft) of torque version of the 5.5-liter, twin-turbocharged M157 engine is apparently also in the planning, just so it gives the future BMW X6 M (F86) something to think about.

Expect the production car to be unveiled at either the 2015 edition of the North American Auto Show in January or somewhere in China, as the Middle Kingdom might prove to be the biggest market for the model.
