Officially unveiled five days ago, the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205 will most definitely revolutionize its segment if taking into account some of the ground-breaking features it will introduce when it arrives on the market in 2014.
We've already covered the model's new active safety features, its engine lineup, some of its technology features, compared its design with the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4 and even filled you in about its three new different types of headlights.

Now its time to check out yet another innovative feature from the new C-Class, and its looks are something people will probably talk about for quite some time after its release.

Officially named the Airpanel, it is essentially an electrically-powered engine blind shutter that's used to vastly improve the aerodynamics of the new C-Class and make the engine heat up faster when its vanes are closed.

It also makes the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205 look like a four-wheeled version of Bane, from Batman. That, or some art-deco coachbuilt car from the 1930s, but we're going with Bane on this one.

According to MB Passion, the Airpanel should come in standard with the BlueEfficiency Edition models, but it can also be ordered separately only in conjunction with the Exclusive trim level for just EUR 119 in Germany – unless the Distronic Plus or Driving Assistance Package Plus are ordered as well.
