The Macca boys finally let the cat out of the bag - the McLaren 675LT track-focused monster is the model that joins an already established C and S range hierarchy. And no, LT isn’t a Chevrolet trim level, but another way of saying “Longtail” apparently.
Slated to be presented in March at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the McLaren 675LT is described as the modern day interpretation of the McLaren F1 GTR ‘Longtail’ that debuted during the 1997 season of sportscar racing. Furthermore, the GTR can also boasts with a 24 Hours of Le Mans win in 1995.

Joining the Asia-spec McLaren 625C and the 650S, the 675LT is hailed by the Woking-based automaker as being the lightest, the fastest and the most pure version in the British supercar’s range. When it will debut at Geneva, the McLaren booth will also see the monstrous P1 GTR also make an appearance.

McLaren says that this street-legal but lightened up supercar will embody the F1 GTR’s “Longtail” ethos focused optimised aerodynamics and more oomph, as well as increased downforce, driving pleasure. 675 stands for PS (BHP or metric horsepower), equating to 666 all-American ponies from a 3.8L twin-turbo V8.

To be offered exclusively in coupe body style when deliveries start later this year, more details of the McLaren 675LT, including its performance figures, will be announced in the weeks prior to the Geneva.
