A member of the HeadlightMag forum just dropped the adjacent pictures of the 2015 Mazda BT-50 facelift. The Ford Ranger’s brother is going to be launched in July, available in seven exterior finishes, rear and four-wheel drive, 2.2, 2.5 and 3.2-liter engines, two transmissions and 16 different models.
Those models are grouped under a few variations of the 2015 Mazda BT-50: Open Cab, Single Cab, Open Cab Hi-Racer, Double Cab Hi-Racer and Double Cab 4×4. We’re not sure what happened to the paint of the 2015 Mazda BT-50 in the adjacent photo gallery, but it’s easy to see what’s what in terms of visual differences over the current BT-50 ute.

As expected, the Kodo - Soul of Motion design language was applied to this pickup truck and the finished product is not bad. We’re especially happy that the fugly headlamps have been updated with clearer clusters and that the front grille is a bit more butch-looking than before.

It’s an ute with attitude and attitude sells. Slated to be produced in Rayong, Thailand, the basic 2015 Mazda BT-50 facelift will be animated by a 2.5L turbo diesel with 143 horsepower (105 kW) and 329 Nm (243 lb-ft) of torque. This is the entry-level oil-burning motor though.

Move on up to the 2.2L turbo diesel and you’re looking at 160 horsepower (118 kW) and 385 Nm (284 lb-ft). The top-of-the-range option comes in the form of a 3.2-liter five-cylinder turbo diesel with 200 horsepower (147 kW) and 470 Nm (346 lb-ft). When properly equipped for the job, the biggest engine will offer the BT-50 the ability to tow 3,500 kilograms (7,716 lbs).

Transmission-wise, there’s a choice of stick shifts and a six-speed automatic transmission. A novelty feature coming on the facelifted ute is a rearview parking camera similar to the system used by the facelifted Ford Ranger. On a side note, it’s mum’s guess whether the BT-50 facelift will get a touchscreen media system. Available exterior finishes include Titanium Flash (aka hideous brown), True Red, Snow Flake White Pearl, Cool White, Deep Blue, Crystal Blue, and Silver Aluminum Metallic.
