The Spa Francorchamps was (and probably still is) the home of some 20 brand new M3 and M4 models handed over to journalists from around the world and customers to test out. The Belgian track is also one of the best places in the world to do so, as it has the perfect blend of twisted turns and straights.
With the M models always bragging about their track performance, what better environment to test out the latest creations of the Motorsport division? Two Bimmerpost members were on the track a while back testing the cars and had a camera with them.

From the video description it seems like Ron Simons from RSR Racing was driving a Sakhir Orange BMW F80 M3 when he met with a Mineral White M4. The ensuing chase is thrilling, to say the least.

That’s because Ron seems to know what he is doing and is really pushing the other driver to reach his limits as well across the 7:46 video. Oh and you also get to see a couple of exotic racers as well.

As far as the specs go, the two are identical in almost every regard. They both have the same 3-liter twinturbocharged inline 6-cylinder engines under the bonnet making 431 HP and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque, both can be fitted with a manual 6-speed or a DCT gearbox and both have the same sprint times.

Have it in a 2-door or 4-door configuration, you’ll get to 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill in 4.1 seconds with the 7-speed auto or 4.3 seconds with the manual. The only noticeable difference is a slight weight advantage for the Coupe that is roughly 20 kilos lighter. That can easily be denied by the weight of the driver though.

In the end, it all comes down to skill when these two meet on the track and there’s plenty of that here. Check it out!
