After the 125 Duke’s success in Europe, it was rather natural that KTM also delivered a racer in the same segment, and the RC125 seems to have filled the gap perfectly. The bike builds on the proven technologies of the Duke, but takes things one step further into the high-performance realm. A great treat for new and even returning young riders, the 2015 KTM RC125 will become available this September in Austria, with the rest of the European dealers getting it shortly.
The 2015 RC125 is brought to life by a liquid-cooled 124.7cc 4-stroke single which can produce a peak power of 15 hp, and which is mated to a manual 6-speed transmission, with a wet multi-disc clutch and cable operation. The iconic tubular trellis frame of the 125 Duke was revised for a sportier geometry and sharper response. The new frame makes the wheelbase and trail a tad shorter, while its new steering head adds more precision to the build.

On the brakes side, the 2015 KTM RC125 is well equipped, with the Bybre system being developed with brake specialist Brembo. ABS is standard for both rotors, the 300mm front and the 230mm rear one. The ABS unit is supplied by Bosch and is a 9MB dual-channel one.

Bike and ride info is displayed by means of a digital dash which delivers useful data, such as speed, fuel level, service interval, average speed, fuel consumption and even an adjustable shifting light, just like big-bore sport bikes have. LED lighting elements are also present, and a sporty windscreen makes the bike ready to race from the box.

The price announced for Austria is €4,698 ($6,280), including the local NoVa tax on fuel consumption, paid upon initial registration and a 20% VAT.
