Kawasaki was indeed shooting the promo pictures and doing some final road testing for its upcoming 2015 Versys 1000 bike in Romania. Pemotoare has received a frontal spy shot of the new liter-class Versys and it confirms that the new adv-ish machine arrives with a major facelift for its front fairing and a completely different, two-headlight cluster.
While the initial shot of the 2015 Kawasaki Versys 1000 showed that the side panels of the machine are different from the boxy styling the bike was initially launched with back in 2012, it looks like the new big Versys is following the current design trend. The restyled fairing adds more edge to the whole build, while the radiator was hidden from plains sight. Whether it has also received an adventure-ish protective grill remains to be seen.

The 2015 Versys 1000 introduces a much more obvious adventure-specific riding position, a thing more aggressive Kawasaki fans might grow to love quite a bit. Still, when it comes to the aesthetics, we must admit that the new Versys 1000 has kind of lost the peculiar character which made it an unique presence in the segment, in favor of a more common attire. The styling changes however, seem to chase a functionality-focused goal, offering better weather protection and a slightly more commanding look.

As for Transalpina, it is the highest rideable road in Romania, an iconic landscape in the middle of the wilderness. It is currently being upgraded to better standards, though it looks like little progress was made during the last months. Until several years ago, the Transalpina was only a rocky road only tough bikers with tough bikes dared to ride.

Starting from its north end, the ride used to begin with wading a fairly wide river, leaving behind wet forest trails, and heading for the tall, boulder-covered alpine roads, with drops of more than 1,000 feet (350m) beyond the absent guard rails. If you wish, it was the wild, untamed and much more dangerous version of the Transfagarasan, one of the (if not THE) most beautiful roads in the world.
