Introduced at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month, the 2015 Renegade will hit the market as the smallest Jeep yet and as the most European vehicle the Toledo-based manufacturer has ever offered.

The small crossover will be underpinned by a Fiat-sourced platform, will be powered by an array of MultiAir and MultiJet engine and will be assembled in Italy. If cars could talk, this one would tell us “buongiorno!”.

Jeep has yet to announce when the Renegade will become available in dealerships world wide, so we don’t know how soon you’ll be able to enjoy this cute Italo-American contraption, but word has it the first vehicles will be shipped to retailers by the of the year.

The news comes via Todd Goyer, the head of brand communications for Jeep, who told Autoblog that the 2015 Renegade arrive in European showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2014, while North American dealerships won’t get it before the first quarter of 2015.

Larger than the Nissan Juke and slightly longer than the Kia Soul, the 2015 Renegade will come with several class-leading features, including a nine-speed automatic transmission, off-road capabilities, 20:1 crawl ratio, a towing capability of up to 1,500 kg (3,300 lbs) and many more.

Although it keeps Jeep’s familiar boxy exterior, the brand new Renegade was gifted with an Italian-inspired interior that looks less rugged. A wise decision considering Jeep’s global ambitions with the 2015 Renegade.

The crossover will be sold in four trim levels and with 16 powertrain combinations. No word on whether the US will get any diesel unit, but America will be able to choose from at least two gasoline engines, the 1.4-liter MultiAir and 2.4-liter Tigershark.
