...the Jeep Renegade Hard Steel concept may answer half of the question. What you can see in the live photo gallery below is the definitely more interesting to cover than the Wranglers the company brought to Geneva. Boiled down to its core values, the Hard Steel is a blend of style, adventure and capability.

Just as the $19,995 Sport 4x4, the Hard Steel is able to tow a maximum of 2,000 lbs (907 kg) when properly equipped for such duties. Then again, this is a show car, not a workhorse, so let’s move on with its party pieces. What strikes you first and foremost is the Brushed Steel hue of the body steel, which looks pretty darn nice.

Vector in those black-painted 16-inch wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich All Terrain rubber, the “Trailhawk” engraved skid plate and hood vents and you’ll find yourself thoroughly impressed by the appearance of a mere Jeep. Then you see the quirky trailer designed to resemble a half of the Renegade sans the glass house. Then again, we’re not too sure about the infotainment gizmos the trailer has been equipped with.

What did Jeep try to prove with the Renegade Hard Steel? Well, all those mods aren’t just for show. As the American manufacturer highlights, the Hard Steel is meant to provide “an outlook for potential future Mopar accessories dedicated to the new Renegade.”

Keep those fingers crossed the matte grey exterior paint and the funky trailer make it into production.
