For SRT fans, Jeep has some good news as well as some bad news if you’re checking out the Grand Cherokee SRT. The good news is that this high-powered SUV is getting an increase in power for 2015, but the bad news is that the power increase won’t be of the 707-hp Hellcat variety that the Challenger and Charger have recently enjoyed.
Still, any added power is good power with the 2015 Grand Cherokee SRT’s 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 now rated at 475 hp (354 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) at 4,300 rpm. These are increases of 5 hp and 5 lb-ft while maintaining the same peak rpms. Jeep did not say how it squeezed the extra power from the engine, but despite the added power and torque, the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT runs the same 0-60 time as the 2014 model year getting up to speed in just 4.8 seconds. Other performance figures include a top speed of 160 mph, a 0-100-0 time of 16.3 seconds and a quarter-mile time in the “mid-13 second range.”

To go along with the power increase, the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT gets a new Red Vapor special edition package (shown above). This package is priced at $3,995, and it replaces most of the exterior chrome with blacked-out trim including the five-spoke 20-inch wheels, which come in a black chrome finish. This package also adds some changes inside with black chrome and Radar Red cabin accents in addition to anodized silver bezels and a trick backlit SRT logo on the steering wheel. The Red Vapor special edition package only comes in Redline Red Pearl Clear Coat, Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat and Bright White Clear Coat paint colors, and it even includes some added red trim under the hood.

Rounding out the key changes made to the 2015 Grand Cherokee SRT, Jeep has added Chrysler’s Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) technology, which is supposed to reduce extraneous cabin noise to make the exhaust note and the audio system even better. This system uses four microphones located throughout the interior to measure cabin noise and then add in a sound using the audio system to cancel out things like wind noise and road noise.

Matching these minor changes, the price of the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT has also been changed slightly with the new model now priced at $64,495 compared to the 2014 price of $64,380 (neither price includes the $995 destination charge).
