2015 Infiniti QX80 Shows Its Fresh Face in New York

The QX80 continues to be Infiniti's most agricultural-looking SUV and that's because it's just a badge-engineered Nissan Patrol. But Infiniti might just find a few extra customers out there after they see this 2015 model year upgrade.

The QX80 remains an ugly SUV, but thanks to some fresh styling tweaks. The main features of the facelift are the LEDs used for the main headlights, the refreshed turn signals and fog lights. The same double curve grille with mesh as the Q50 sedan is used here, giving the large truck a sportier look.

The 2015 QX80 also offers new wheel designs and three extra colors: Hermosa Blue, Graphite Shadow and Majestic White.

The QX80 keeps the same 5.6-liter V8 it had when it was still called the QX56. This produces 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque and provides a towing capacity of up to 8,500 pounds.

If you're still sitting here, wondering why somebody would ever buy this over a Range Rover or Mercedes GL not to mention the new Escalade, know the tech side is being improved a little. Adaptive headlights that automatically dip have been added, as well as a collision warning system, brake brake assist, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning a backup collision warning system and adaptive cruise control.

After being revealed at the New York Auto Show, the 2015 Infiniti QX80 will hit showrooms in the fall.
