For 2015, Honda introduces the Pioneer 500, a nifty middleweight side-by-side which blends in practicality and fun, while still being an affordable machine. With a retail price of $8,499 (€6,200), the 2015 Honda Pioneer 500 will most likely become a hit, especially as its rather diminutive dimensions are backed with solid performance.
With a 50” (127cm) width the new Pioneer 500 not only fits in the back of a full-size pickup truck. But will also allow riders to squeeze on width-restricted tracks and on narrow paths in the wild. Powered by an injected 475cc 4-stroke single with liquid cooling, the Pioneer 500 packs plenty of punch, especially as it is mated to a semi-automatic 5-speed gearbox.
Both a recreational and an utility vehicle, the 2015 Pioneer 500 is exceedingly fun to drive, as it has paddle-shifting, 4WD with the first gear being a Low-ratio one, while the reverse adds even more functionality. Independent double-wishbone suspensions sport 5.9”(15cm) of travel, while the dual 190mm front discs and the inboard 200mm rear one provide excellent stopping power.
The 2015 Pioneer 500 also comes with an integrated net-side panel door system with automotive-grade double-latch closing for enhanced rider safety. A rear cargo rack can easily accommodate specialized accessories, while plenty of add-ons can also be installed without the use of tools. The 1000-lb (453 kg) towing capacity is also a most welcome feature as it will help you with your work.
Honda offers the 2015 Pioneer in Red, Olive, Yellow and a special Honda Phantom Camo is also available for $9,099 (€6,635).
