The first Honda HR-V batch has landed in the UK, as the first HR-V shipment arrived in the Bristol docks.
We have more good news for Honda fans, as the new Honda HR-V will make its way to dealerships starting with the end of this month, which means in two weeks' time clients will be able to see the crossover as it populates showrooms.
“The HR-V is back. These are some fantastic pictures of the new HR-V being driven off the boat having arrived from Mexico and it is only a matter of weeks before we start seeing the car out on the road,” said Philip Crossman, Managing Director at Honda UK.
How do we know the interests is so high in the HR-V? This is a simple one. Honda claims the new HR-V has already generated almost 350 orders without customers having driven, let alone even seen the car in the metal.
The new HR-V is available at launch with a choice of two engines. We're talking about a 120 horsepower 1.6 litre i-DTEC diesel mill (the one powering the Honda Civic we recently tested) and a 130 horsepower 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol engine, both part of Honda's Earth Dreams Technology series.
On the practical side, the trunk offers a cargo storage area of 453 litres with the rear seats up and 1,026 litres with the rear seats down.
For those with high expectations, Honda is offering the top-grade EX model available from £23,195 (roughly $35,827 at current exchange rates). The extra cash brings a full leather interior, smart entry and start, a rear-view camera along with a tilt-and-slide opening panoramic glass sunroof and 17-inch alloy wheels.
As usual, officials forecast a huge demand for the HR-V coming from the public, but only time will tell if the return of the HR-V will generate the desired sales figures.
