Believe it or not, it’s been 4 decades since the first Honda Gold Wing, the GL1100 rolled on the streets for the first time. Honda announces the 2015 Gold Wing 40th Anniversary Edition, and introduces several modifications in the new bike, other than the classic color updates.
Speaking of colors, the house of Tokyo brings two new trims, Metallic Silver and a killer-looking two-tone Prominence Red/Graphite Black livery which is complemented by a blacked-out chassis, black wheels and covers. This is probably the best-looking Gold Wing we’ve ever come across and would daresay it will also sell excellently.

Still on the aesthetic side, the 2015 GL1800 introduces a special anniversary emblem which is embossed on the passenger backrest and can also be found on the keys, front fairing and on the lid of the trunk.

The most important upgrade is represented by the new layered design of the fairing, which is said to provide lass buffeting and better wind protection, especially in the rider’s leg area. Even more, the 2015 Gold Wing also sports a leg-warming system for the rider, most likely based on air heated up by the engine and routed conveniently.

The seats received a new perforated polyurethane cover which is waterproof and is said to offer better comfort for long hauls. The standard trim of the 2015 Honda Gold Wing GL1800 40th Anniversary Edition includes heated grips, seat and foot warmer system, an audio system, cruise control and electric reverse. Combined braking system is also standard, but it looks like ABS is an option.

No less than 4 versions of the bike will become available from October, with prices starting at $23,999 (€18,530) and reaching $30,559 (€23,625) for the airbag-equipped model.
