It may have been a heck of a long time since Honda promised us petrolheads with an all-new Civic Type R, but the wait was worth it. Ladies and gents, take an up close and personal look at the fastest ever front-wheel drive hot hatchback to lap the Nurburgring.
Regarding the video of the record-breaking 7-minute 50.63-second lap time around the so-called Green Hell, it’s fairly easy to see (and hear) how hard the front tires are trying to grip on entry, mid-corner and corner exit at the 21-second mark. That’s seriously hairy-chested driving from a racer with balls of steel.

But Nurburgring times aren’t relevant in the real world. Slated to arrive at European dealerships late this summer, the 2015 Honda Civic Type R will eventually arrive across the pond as a 2016 model year.

OK, so it doesn’t have the concept's looks, but LOOK AT THE QUAD EXHAUST SYSTEM AND REAR WING!

Priced in the UK from £29,995, the most brutal Civic Type R to date also adds gills on each of its sides just above the flared wheel arches of the front axle, a red-accented chin spoiler and acres of sporty-looking chicken wire at the front. To put it simply, every angle of this uber hatch screams “Don’t you mess with me, boy racer! I’m doing 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.7 clicks!”

I kid you not, the 2015 Honda Civic Type R is so impressive visual-wise from six feet away that we’ve felt like we were in the presence of Angelina Jolie. That’s how much respect this thing demands from you, gearhead or not. Now only if Angelina had a 310 HP (306 BHP) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) 4-cylinder turbo VTEC engine and the looks to make grown men cry...
