Honda never does half-assed facelifts. Whenever the Japanese brand thinks it's high time they refreshed a model, changes come both visually and mechanically, and the 2015 Honda Civic facelift makes no exception.

We started our journey on a rainy day, but that did nothing to diminish the Civic's bold exterior styling. In fact, that red body kit was the drop of colour we needed in a rain-washed urban jungle.

However, the Civic is more than just a striking presence, despite the fact that the front spoiler is now hinting at the hardcore Civic Type R and by just looking at the car, you'd expect a sporty attitude.

That's not something you'll find in the 2015 Civic facelift because Honda played all the cards on comfort and practicality. Boot space is best in class while inside there's enough room for four adults. Up front, the cabin is airy but at the back it can sometimes send a claustrophobic vibe for some passengers.

The 1.6-liter i-DTEC engine provides enough resources for the average mild-driving customer. The car handles well in the city, where manoeuvring the hatchback is a piece of cake. It does the same out on the open road, where the Civic's greatest asset is the low fuel consumption.

The practical dose injected by Honda - or better said, kept by Honda - makes the Civic facelift a suitable candidate for a car that can serve a small family. Furthermore, its efficient way of burning fuel, coupled with the technology retouches operated by Honda inside, where users can play with a swipe, pinch and zoom display, are a plus.
