You’ve heard that right! The 2015 Holden Insignia VXR costs AUD 57,013 driveway. May we remind the peeps from Holden that the larger and more commodious Holden Commodore SS-V packs 30 more kW of grunt, a 6-liter V8 engine and costs almost AUD 6,000 less than the badge-engineered Insignia?
You know what they say - to each their own. The 2015 Holden Insignia VXR doesn’t stray from that rule because people are willing to spend that kind of money for a European-developed family sedan. Of course, the highlight feature of the VXR is the 2.8-liter twin-scroll turbo V6 lying under the curvaceous hood, as well as the 20-inch alloys, Brembo front brakes, and cross-drilled discs on all corners.

239 kW (325 PS) and 435 Nm (320 lb-ft) in a sedan that gets all-wheel drive and a spirited driver-centric traction control system is a recipe for fun. 2010 V8 Supercar champion James Courtney promises that “this a genuine performance mid-size sedan that combines power, an amazing amount of technology and stunning looks.” You heard the man. He races for a living.

As noted beforehand, sheer grunt isn’t all there is to the Holden Insignia VXR. Stopping power, all-wheel drive grip and traction, as well as the FlexRide adaptive suspension technology, will be your adjutants at carving up the road. In terms of colors, you’ll have to choose from an assortment of four exterior finishes: Summit White, Carbon Flash Black, Arden Blue or Silver Lake.

Other than these and a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) run dealt in just 6.2 seconds, it should be mentioned that the Holden Insignia VXR, it should be noted that the fuel economy on the combined cycle is 10.9 liters per 100 km (21.5 US mpg). Naturally, there’s a plethora of standard features on offer, including Recaro seats, rearview parking camera, dual-zone climate control, adaptive bi-xenon headlamps with LED DRLs, and an 8-inch infotainment system.
