Compared to the US-spec Chevrolet Colorado, what Holden markets in the Land Down Under under the same moniker is a light truck which is tough and versatile for both work and family duties. With the Storm, the GM-owned manufacturer upped the ante just a little over the standard-spec Colorado ute.
Priced at just AUD 1,000 more than the 2015 Holden Colorado 4x4 LTZ Crew Cab Pickup, this ute promises its customers with a more premium experience. As you may know already, the LTZ has been updated slightly for the 2015 model year. With the Storm treatment, the Colorado adds front and rear carpet floor mats, heated front seats and posh leather upholstery.

On the outside, Holden gave the Colorado Storm special edition a branded hood protector, black sports bar and a black nudge bar. Besides the AUD 550 optional paints (Orange Rock, Satin Steel Grey, Black Sapphire), the Storm comes as standard in either Sizzle or the Summit White hue.

As for the oily bits, a Duramax turbo diesel engine displacing 2.8 liters comes as standard mated to a six-speed manual. Coupled to the optional six-speed automatic transmission, the 147 kW (197 HP) mill is able to produce 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of twist.

Thanks to a 3,500-kilogram (7,716-pound) towing capacity, the 2015 Holden Colorado Storm can talk the talk and walk the walk as well. Furthermore, don't think for a moment that a workhorse such as this one doesn't come with amenities like a MyLink infotainment system. Arriving at Aussie and NZ dealers in mid-February, the Storm is also great value, promising buyers to save roughly AUD 2,500 off the RRP.
