2015 Harley-Davidson Sportster Forty-Eight Is Ready to Turn Heads

Harley surfaces the 2015 model year of its acclaimed stylish version of the Sportster, the Forty-Eight. A breed of its own and by far, one of the most spectacular Sportsters, the Forty-Eight is an iconic machine that’s hard to mistake for something else.

The 2015 Forty-Eight arrives with two new color schemes on the custom trim list. The old Amber Whiskey, Charcoal Pearl and Vivid Black color schemes are complemented by two Hard Candy Custom tones, Hard Candy big Red Flake and Hard Candy Cancun Blue Flake. These paint schemes will certainly look awesome especially on the clean rear fender, which was left without a tail light, as the running and brake light functions have been embedded in the turn signals.

In the front, a fat MT90 tire shoes the classic wire spoked, single-disc wheel, while the shorty fender keeps things looking sporty and nimble. The slammed handlebar is adorned with under mount mirrors for a meaner look, and the all-black hardware makes everything look both sober and elegant at the same time.

The peanut tank is wonderfully integrated into the build like always, but its capacity leaver a lot to be desired. If you’re planning longer hauls, the 7.9-liters (2.2 US gal) of fuel it can accommodate will not get you too far and force you to make a lot of stops. With a combined fuel economy of 4.9l/100 km (48 mpg), riding the 2015 Forty-Eight in the city will make this even worse.

The new Forty-Eight is powered by the 1,202cc Evolution engine whose 96 Nm (70.7 lb-ft) peak torque is reached at 3,750 revs. The chain primary transmission powers up a 5-speed gearbox and a belt final drive. The seat height of the Forty-Eight is 710mm (28 inches) and the wet weight (in running order) is 255kg (563 lb). If the fashionable character of your bike is more important that range, then the 2015 Forty-Eight might be a great choice for you. Prices to be announced later.
