Full-size pickup trucks are cool, full stop. Rugged and dependable, these four-wheeled workhorses can do many jobs without braking a sweat. But if you’re in the market for a truck with a special personality, the Sierra Elevation Edition may be the right one for you.
Whereas the entry-level 2015 GMC Sierra starts at $26,605 (2WD, regular cab, standard box, 4.3-liter EcoTec V6 engine and six-speed automatic tranny), the ritzy Sierra Elevation Edition is a little bit on the expensive side of light-duty full-size pickup trucks.

$34,865 costs the 2WD model equipped with the standard 4.3-liter V6, while $38,795 are need for a 4.3-liter V6 and 4WD configuration. Models with the optional 5.3-liter V8 start at $35,960 for 2WD and $39,890 for 4WD. Despite its sticker, what we have here is a uniquely styled truck that combines a monochrome exterior look with lots of standard kit.

Going on sale this month based on the 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 double cab with 1SA trim, four exterior colors and visual exterior appointments are offered, as well as 20-inch black-painted wheels, fog lamps and projector-beam headlamps with LED lights, 4G LTE Internet connectivity with Wi-Fi hotspot feature, the versatile IntelliLink touchscreen infotainment system, et cetera.

Additional standard and available equipment for the style-conscious workhorse include:

  • Body-color front/rear bumpers, bodyside moldings, door handles, grille surround and mirror caps
  • CornerStep rear bumper
  • G80 locking rear differential
  • 110V power outlet
  • Remote keyless entry
  • Heated, power-adjustable outside mirrors
  • LED cargo box lighting
  • Six months of OnStar Directions & Connections plan, plus five-year OnStar Basic Plan
  • Exterior colors: Onyx Black, Quicksilver Metallic, Sonoma Red Metallic and Summit White
  • Color-keyed carpeting
  • Deep-tinted glass
  • Available rear vision camera
  • Available trailering package
  • Available all-terrain tires.
