With the A 45 and CLA 45 AMG already busy dropping jaws all over the world in their respective segments, it was time for a third AMG model on the MFA (Modular Front Architecture) platform, and it has now come in the shape of the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG.
Sporting the same engine, transmission and quite a lot of other “same” bits taken from its non-SUV brothers, the new GLA 45 AMG has just been unveiled at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
With no less than 360 hp (355 bhp) and 450 Nm (332 lb ft) of torque on tap, ready to be transferred to all four wheels through a seven speed dual-clutch transmission and a Haldex-based all-wheel drive system, the latest AMG crossover/SUV is the fastest and most powerful little bugger in its segment.
Here are the first live photos of the model, parked on the Mercedes-Benz stand and sporting a similar and somewhat silly exterior bodykit and color combo as the Concept GLA 45 AMG, which was unveiled back at the 2013 LA Auto Show.
