Nikle_pk from HeadlightMag just spotted a totally camo-free 2015 Ford Ranger ute in the most entry-level specification – XL Single Cab Chassis. The Blu Oval-badged red-painted mid-size pickup truck was caught on film near a petrol station in Thailand.
As I'm sure our pickup truck-loving readers already know, the Ford Ranger T6 is made by a joint venture called AutoAlliance Thailand, co-owned by Ford and Mazda. AAT operates a single factory in the Asian country, in the Rayong province, with the complex arranged similarly to Mazda's Hofu assembly plant located in Japan's Yamaguchi Prefecture.

Analyzing the most obvious of details, we can see that the 2015 Ranger on hand is equipped with low-cost steelies, black plastic bumpers front and rear and a front radiator grille which is also made from plastic that's been painted black. Compared to the fully loaded 2015 Ranger teased back in November, this one is as entry-level as an updated Ford Ranger can get.

When you put this Single Cab Chassis model next to a 2015 Ford Ranger Wiltrak, the visual sauce is even more different, though the Wildtrack adopts black-painted exterior trim for a more menacing look. All in all, this is but a mere workhorse designed to haul and tow to your heart's desire, which is why even the basic Single CC doesn't disappoint on the styling front. In terms of interior updates, we'd recommend to expect a similar layout and design to what we have already seen on the 2015 Ford Everest seven-seater SUV.

Slated to go on sale in Australia and NZ by mid-2015, the updated Ford Ranger ute will be offered with pretty much the same, proven engines of the pre-facelift, mated to either a six-speed stick shift or an optional six-speed automatic. As such, you'll have to choose from either a 110 kW (150 hp) and 375 Nm (277 lb-ft) 2.2-liter turbo diesel four-banger or a 147 kW (200 HP) and 470 Nm (347 lb-ft) 3.2-liter TDCi inline five.
