2015 Ford Mustang Supercharger System from ProCharger Pushes 1,225+ HP

From 300 HP all the way to 500-plus, the 2015 Ford Mustang has a powertrain option made to the measure of a wide array of customers. Though we all want the 2016 Shelby GT350 Mustang more than any other variant, only 5,000 such beasts will be built for the 2016 model year. What else can we do then?

Opting for the 435 HP and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) GT isn’t a solution. But if you aid that Coyote 5-liter V8 with a 2015 Mustang ProCharger Stage 2 system, you’re in for a real wild ride. With 1,225+ HP, the S2 intercooled supercharging system is the maddest S550 Mustang tuning kit to date.

Until recently, the Kansas City-based company offered two output-enhancing kits, churning out 600 RWHP and 709 RWHP, respectively. But according to ProCharger’s latest entry on their official website, we’re told to look forward to a sub-7-second quarter-mile run from the 1,255+ horsepower ProCharger Stage 2 pack.

Incidentally, Texan company SeriousHP tuned the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat

By refreshing the ECU of the 6.2-liter s/c HEMI, these guys were able to squeeze 706 HP and 830 lb-ft (1,125 Nm) of twist at the wheels. In any case, the ProCharger-enhanced Mustang GT trumped SeriousHP’s Challenger SRT Hellcat before we even got the chance to see those two duke it out on the drag strip.

Best thing of all? The Stage 2 ProCharger kit for the S550 Mustang drinks 91 octane fuel and the package is street-legal. Apart from the massive air-to-air intercooler, this package’s bread and butter comes in the guise of an 8” crank pulley and the heavy-duty tensioner slotted near the blower’s pulley.

Don’t ask about pricing though - all we know is that the system is now shipping, 9 psi of boost and all.
