It’s been a little more than a week since we reported anything about the 2015 Ford Mustang and we thought it would be a good idea to show you the latest speculative rendering to surface the Internet.
But this time you won’t be seeing another plain jane 2015 Mustang (you’ve probably seen enough already), but the Mach 1 version the sixth-generation pony should get after its 2014 launch. In case you’re wondering what’s the Mach 1 name got to do with the 2015 Mustang, we’ll remind you that Ford is in the final stages of acquiring the trademark for the iconic moniker.
Getting back to the rendering, this 2015 Mustang Mach 1 was envisioned by our friends over at Top Speed, who fitted a black hood and shaker scoop, black side stripes and a black rear wing - all three featured on the original Mach 1 - to the next-gen pony. Other modifications applied to the already familiar 2015 Mustang design include fog lamps and darkened, slimmer headlamps.
As a reminder, the Mustang Mach 1 was introduced in 1969 as a V8-exclusive performance model until 1974, when it became an appearance package on the downsized Mustang II. The Mach 1 returned on the fourth-generation Mustang, being offered for the 2003-2004 model years.
