The 2015 Mustang lost its covers earlier this week, and enthusiasts are already thinking about what Ford will be offering beyond the GT version in the future.
It's too early for Ford to just come out and shout about the next high performance pony, but some reports claim the sixth-generation Mustang will mark the return of the Mach 1, which disappeared for the second time in 2004.

We've seen a Mach 1 rendering earlier this year, but now that the 2015 Mustang has been revealed, guess it's time for an update where speculative images are replaced by official photos. So, what we'll be seeing on the new Mach 1, which will probably arrive for 2016 model year?

According to these renderings from Top Speed, the musclecar will receive a huge front splitter with adjustable supports, a large rear spoiler, quad exhaust pipes and Mach 1 badges for the doors and the trunk lid. Black stripes for the hood and rocker panel plus a vertical-bar Mustang logo for the front grille should also be added.

As for performance, the Mach 1 needs at least 440 horsepower in order to top the GT's "more than 420 HP and 390 lb-ft" of torque, but we'll just have to wait for Ford to make the 5.0-liter V8's numbers official.
