We still have about one month of waiting to do until the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 greets us in person at the Detroit Motor Show, but it looks like the aftermarket developers are already offering alternatives for the S550-based Shelby GT500, a pony that's still has tons of development miles to cover until its development process is completed.
The latest example of this is the Red 2015 Mustang GT in the clip below, which prides itself with no less than 900 horspepower and 640 lb-ft (868 Nm), At the wheels.

The footage allows us to see the muscle car on the dyno, where its supercharger whine (what were you expecting?) takes over the entire experience.

The custom pony comes from Evolution Performance and you can see more details about how that muscle is delivered thanks to the graphs included in the video.

The 5.0-liter V8 of the GT was treated with a custom-built V-7 JT Vortech supercharger kit, which obviously required a ton of supporting mods. To be more specific, we're talking about Injector Dynamcis ID1000 fuel injectors, a TiAL Sport 50mm blow-off valve (aural pleasures are on the house), an Evolution air-to-water intercooler system and super stealth intake plenum, as well as a custom exhaust system. The last consists of American Racing Longtube headers and an Off Road X-Pipe, while the rest of the system comes from Thunder Exhaust.

The real world questions

Top-end dyno numbers are one thing and real-world performance is another. Evolution Performance's Mustang GT has to hit the strip in order to prove its performance and we're looking forward to seeing it play the quarter mile game.

The comparison with the Hellcat is obviously just a bit of fantasy, since the OEM assets of the Challenger can't be matched by any tuned metal. Still, we're certain the two will meet on the strip.- you can't expect all Hellcat owners to keep their cars stock, can you?

PS: speaking of fast Fords, the Blue Oval has confirmed the US arrival of the 2016 Focus RS. While we'll probably see the thing in Detroit, the mad hatch will pack an AWD setup in the battle with the Golf R.
