2015 Ford Mustang European Ordering Books Open on January 20th

Originally presented to the public in late 2013, the S550 Mustang started production last year, when the Blue Oval celebrated the 50th anniversary of its most revered nameplate ever. Heck, Ford Motor Company moved so fast we even got a pair of Shelby-ified GT350 ‘Stangs as well, packing the most potent naturally aspirated V8 motor Ford has ever made.

Another big first for the sixth-gen pony is that it was conceived from the get-go to be just right for the European market. In this regard, a right-hand drive variant was developed for the UK (as well as Australia), while the entry-level 3.7-liter V6 cannot be had anywhere else in the world but in the States.

Considering the mid-range 2.3-liter EcoBoost mill is only 10 horsepower up on the six-cylinder, this limited availability isn’t surprising at all, more so if you take into account how drastic car taxation is in Europe. Finally, after 13 months of waiting since its unveiling, the 2015 Ford Mustang will be available to order on the Old Continent from January 20th, with first deliveries slated for the second quarter of 2015.

So what’s what? Well, the Euro-spec Mustang, as highlighted above, will be available either with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged petrol or the full-on Coyote 5-liter V8. It’s necessary to mention the following detail: whereas the American V8 ‘Stang is boasting with 435 horsepower, the Euro model makes do with just 412 HP. The 2.3-liter’s output isn’t affected at all, being rated 310 HP / 433 Nm.

In terms of pricing, the lowest you can go with a 2015 Ford Mustang is €34,000 for the EcoBoost fastback paired to a six-speed manual, while the six-speed auto is €36,000. If you’re in the market for the convertible, add another €4,000. As for the 2015 Ford Mustang GT fastback, the V8 bonanza will set you back at least €39,000.
