The Blue Oval's latest marketing stunt brings together muscle car enthusiasts and football fans. At the very moment the Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid football match kicks off on May 24, that same moment Ford will open the order book for the first 500 Euro-spec Mustangs.
Even though we haven't got anything to do with European football, this year's UEFA Champions League final marks the moment Ford will give European customers the first opportunity to reserve a 2015 Ford Mustang.

The first European batch of the all-new pony car is comprised of 250 fastback and 250 convertibles, with 130 units allocated for the United Kingdom. But there's a catch: those fixed-roof units can be ordered in Race Red only, while the ragtops come in Magnetic Silver.

However, we presume that the aforementioned aesthetic limitations aren't enough to put off those in the market for the 2015 Ford Mustang, especially car speculators that want to get their hands on the vehicle only to resell it for a hefty premium.

The entry-level model can be ordered with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which churns out 305 horsepower and 407 Nm of torque. Those who need a little bit more punch from their American muscle car can opt for the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 mill rated at 420 horsepower and 529 Nm of torque.

Both variants of the 500 EU-spec Mustangs will come as standard with 19-inch alloy wheels, heated and ventilated black leather seats, chrome detailing for the interior, Park Assist, as well as Ford’s Sync 2 connectivity and navigation system.

For those who register their purchase details during the match, Ford announced it will offer them a "special package" and a limited-edition certificate along with their brand spanking new Mustang.
