We were starting to wonder when somebody would come up with an outrageous muscle-building pack for the 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost and now we have an answer. Dear pony car enthusiasts, meet the most badass EcoBoost Mustang to date.
The 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine of the ‘Stang was taken to over 400 ponies and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm), which is quite a long way from the factory stock rating of 310 hp and 230 lb-ft (312 Nm).

In the aftermarket world, you can’t talk numbers without dyno sheets, so FFTEC, the aftermarket shop that handled the project, has provided just such a thing below. It’s important to mention the extra grunt was achieved using bolt-on mods.

In fact, here is the list of goodies the engine received:

• FFTEC Turbo System — Utilizing a small frame BorgWarner EFR turbo
• FFTEC EcoCore intercooler
• FFTEC Chargepipe system
• FFTEC Intake System
• FFTEC Downpipe
• FFTEC Exhaust System
• Custom Accessport calibration by FFTEC’s Calibration staff

We don’t have 93 octane fuel here in CA, so we opted to run 94 octane for our test. The fuel is local and available from the pump. At ~24PSI we were able to make 410HP uncorrected. With the .98 SAE correction factor (and smoothing) we were brought back down to 403HP,” FFTEC said.

We have currently opted to mitigate overall TQ output on the chassis, but keep in mind we have taken the TQ well (and we do mean WELL) into the 400’s.

However, you can expect this car to receive quite some hate from the muscle car community. Power and torque is one thing, and a thoroughbred V8 is another. For instance, the story reminds us of a previous-generation Mustang V6. Dubbed Killer 6, this Mustang has been taken to 575 hp, but this hasn’t managed to keep the car from getting its fair share of rotten tomatoes.

Returning to our 4-pot Mustang, while the video below doesn’t show it on the dyno, it does allow us to get a nice taste of its soundtrack.
