When the 2015 Mustang global launch regions map was released more than a month ago, India wasn’t listed as a new right-hand market for the sixth-generation pony, although Bangladesh and Sri Lanka were among the countries scheduled to receive the vehicle.
However, it seems that Ford is planning on sending the 2015 Mustang to India as well, where brands like Porsche, Ferrari and Maserati have already opened showrooms. “We have a lot of fans of the Mustang in India,” Raj Nair, Ford global chief of product development, told India Times.
“The right-hand version will enable us to provide the Mustang to a lot of new markets. India sure is a right-hand market,” Nair added, declining to say when Indian imports will commence. “We cannot speculate on this now.”
The 2015 Ford Mustang will reach global dealerships in the fourth quarter of the year, which means India won’t be getting the redesigned vehicle until 2015.
