Dear Ford Australia, stop using hashtags on Facebook because they do nothing to help additional exposure. Thanks! Moving on - after teasing the 2015 Ford Falcon a couple of times already, the manufacturer's Aussie arm dropped a teaser of the performance version of the sedan bearing the XR8 moniker.
In the clip you can watch one scroll below there's this Neil Trickey person, who's the prototype build co-ordinator over at Ford Australia. Over the course of 1 minute and 36 seconds, Trickey explains what kind of camouflage the automaker employed to hide the new Falcon XR8 from the public eye until it will officially debut on July 25th. However, some shots show as clear as day what is there to expect from the XR8.

Before Ford closes shop in the Land Down Under in 2016 and the Blue Oval will start importing Chinese or U.S.-made cars in this part of the world, the updated Falcon and Territory SUV will be the last Aussie-built Ford models ever. We already know that the Territory only gets a subtly redesigned grille and Hyundai-like fog lights, but changes on the Falcon are fortunately more plentiful and diverse.

While the FH Falcon gets modern headlights with horizontal LED strips acting as daytime running lights and the tail lights have a bit of Ford Fusion in their design, the XR8-badged Ford Falcon promises extra stylistic sauce. Check out the double J-shaped LED lights and the XR lettering adorning the high beam lights. Compared to the four and six-pot variants that get a polished chrome front grille, the XR8 gets a blacked out plastic grille made out of hexagonal cells, looking like a menacing bees nest.

Last but not least, we suspect that under the bonnet you'll find a thumping great 5-liter Miami V8 quad-cam motor with a supercharger bolted on top for good measure. Expected to offer sufficient kW of power to make a grown man soil his underpants, this powerhouse will most likely be coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, while a six-speed automatic will be offered as an optional extra.
