Back in January, when the first bits of info on the all-new Ford F-150 pickup surfaced on the world wide web and the truck debuted in Detroit, the Blue Oval announced the 'You Test It" program. Truck customers and fans alike could win the opportunity to put the F-150 through its toughest challenge yet.
Roughly eight months after that announcement, the first of four "You Test It' finalists got behind the wheel of the 2015 Ford F-150 Lariat 3.5-liter EcoBoost. Brian Schober is the lucky guy's name and he doesn't have your typical 9 to 5 job. In fact, he's a test engineer with a single task: to ensure military vehicles won't fail on the battlefield.

Over the course of 3 minutes and 45 seconds, the video below shows you how Brian tested the "Built Ford Tough" truck tag line and if it lives up with the thirteenth-generation of the F-Series light-duty truck. We don't want to spoil too much, so we'll only mention that Brian took the brand new F-150 for a rough 36-hour drive on a desert course in the Tonto National Forest. Now that's what we'd call a durability test that goes hand in hand with how the Ford engineers torture-tested the 2015 F-150.

In related news, the Dearborn Truck Plant is currently retooling to start assembly of the all-new light-duty workhorse, which starts from $26,615 for the entry-level F-150 XL with the 3.5-liter V6 engine. However, prepare a hefty $52,155 if you want the range-topping Platinum model. If that's too much and your kid's birthday is right around the corner, then why not buy a $350 Power Wheels Ford F-150?
