2015 F48 BMW X1 and 2016 F47 X2 Lifestyle Crossover Renderigs

What is the formula for reinventing a car? Well, you take what were there before it, see what else people wanted and add it...simple really. But to make something truly great, stepping out of your comfort zone and reinventing design, features and tech is necessary.
German publication Autobild has a big scoop on BMW’s off-roader offensive, and they’ve covered six vehicles in total, two of which are coupe-like. We’ll focus now on the X2, and the X1 platform it’s based on.

The rendering they created is almost cute or diminutive, much like a jacked-up version of the current 1-Series hatch. The lights, however, are more angular, as is the side profile and its many creases. Until the new generations gets here, we’ll
probably have to make due with a facelift of the current generation, which made its debut at the 2008 Paris Auto Show.

The new generation will arrive under the F48 name as a five-door. However, unlike the current E84, the 2015 model will likely come with FWD and AWD.

Far more interesting is the new X2, which is described as lifestyle crossover, sold exclusively as a three-door. It will arrive in 2016. It will be marketed as a four-seater for people who want to enjoy it in their leisure time. The platform will be shared with the X1, so you’ll also be able to buy it with FWD as well as AWD.
