Earlier today, Dodge announced it would introduce the 2015 Challenger and the 2015 Charger at the upcoming New York Auto Show. Now the company has released the first teaser image, revealing the face of the new Charger.
When we say “new”, we don’t mean “all-new”. In its press release, Dodge explained the 2015 Charger will get a “full-body makeover with nearly every single body panel being resculpted”, with the changes set to offer the sedan a “sleeker, more modern appearance”.

The line of the hood gives away the fact that this is a redesign, but the details are, indeed, refreshing. Flanking Dodge’s signature crosshair grille, we find a pair of new headlights, which come with an aggressive design, highlighted by the LED daytime running lights.

The black theme of the grille is continued onto the front apron, but this is where the image... stops. Judging by what we see here, the 2015 Charger will come with a menacing front end, a proper treatment.

Like the 2015 Challenger, whose dashboard instruments were teased earlier, the revised Charger is set to receive a host of mechanical updates. There’s no word on changes for the entry-level V6 yet, but the sedan will get a new supercharged Hellcat V8 engine. The unit is rumored to be developing up to 640 hp.

In addition, the current 5.7-liter and 6.4-liter naturally-aspirated Hemi V8s will be tweaked. Just as important, the 2015 Charger will get an eight-speed automatic.
