If you opt for the manual, the 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) run is done in 3.2 seconds, with the 1/4 mile coming at 11.2 seconds. Chevrolet tells the 2015 Corvette Z06 offers "the best braking performance on any production car GM has ever tested" because it can stop from 60 mph in a mere 99.6 feet (30.35 m).
Furthermore, the new Z06 is able to pull a staggering 1.2 G in lateral acceleration on the skid pad, which is better than yesteryear model's 1.13 G. Mention: all those previously presented figures were recorded with a 2015 Z06 Coupe fitted with the optional Z07 Performance pack that adds sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber and Brembo ceramic brakes.
In addition to the performance specs detailed, GM engineers are currently at the Nurburgring, trying to get the most out of their new performance model. However, that production-spec test vehicle happened to meet a barrier headfirst in the Hatzenbach corner while attempting a very hot lap.
The front was damaged slightly, but General Motors test driver Jim Mero got away without a scratch.
