The upcoming Shooting Brake version of the highly-successful Mercedes-Benz CLA is way out of its development phase and is currently testing its heart out in the cold of Northern Sweden.
Set to be unveiled either at the Geneva Motor Show in March or in the second half of 2014, at the Paris Motor Show in October, the CLA Shooting Brake (X117) is technically the stylish station wagon version of the CLA.
Design and practicality-wise, it will follow the same guidelines that the CLS Shooting Brake did when it was launched, with its main purpose in life being to offer a little bit more interior space and practicality to its passengers.
As you can see, the roof will be slightly higher, like on the bigger CLS Shooting Brake, so rear passengers might even keep their hats on this time.
Engines-wise, the CLA Shooting Brake will be powered by the exact same four-cylinder lineup as its “four-door coupe” brother, so we should expect an AMG version as well.
