2015 Chrysler Town & Country Adds New Trim Levels, Lower Base Price

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will be shaking up the minivan market when it kills off the Dodge Grand Caravan in the next couple of years, but we already know the Chrysler Town & Country will be surviving and receiving an all-new design in 2016 (shown above in spy shots). Until then, the Chrysler’s minivan carries over with a couple trim level changes for the 2015 model year.

As we’ve seen from its competitors recently, the sky seems to be the limit when it comes to luxury inside a minivan, and the 2015 Chrysler Town & Country Platinum should be a leader in this regard with amenities that include three rows of Nappa leather seating, dual screen rear-seat entertainment system, power moonroof and memory seats all coming as standard equipment. Although pricing has not been released for the Town & Country Platinum, this model will be priced above $41,995 (MSRP of the 2014 Town & Country Limited) and will likely start in the mid- to upper-$40,000 range comparable to the Nissan Quest LE and the Honda Odyssey Touring Elite.

On the lower end of the minivan’s model lineup, the 2015 Chrysler Town & Country LX will represent a new base model, and while final pricing has not been revealed, Chrysler says this model will start under $30,000. Despite the lower price, the Town & Country LX will continue to offer plenty of features. This includes standard equipment like leather seats, rear Stow ‘n Go seats, 17-inch wheels and the power sliding side doors and liftgate

The 2014 Town & Country Touring currently starts at $30,765, and rival minivans like the Nissan Quest and Toyota Sienna start in the $26,000 range and the Honda Odyssey starts at almost $29,000. For comparison, the 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan starts at $20,895.

This new pricing structure should help to get buyers more accustomed to the coming single-minivan lineup from Chrysler, and judging by recent spy shots, the 2017 Chrysler Town & Country is progressing quite well in its development. Looking very much like the 2012 Chrysler 700C Concept, the next-gen Town & Country will not only gain a sleeker styling but also an advanced plug-in hybrid model.
