Chevrolet smallest crossover SUV just got mildly enhanced for the 2015 model year, with pricing starting from just $20,995 (including freight). It's already available in places such as Europe, Asia, Canada, Mexico and Australia, but the US-spec model will hit the United States this coming January.
What does the compact car with sports utility vehicle practicality and versatility boast with? Well, the $21k base model comes equipped with a punchy General Motors-developed 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline-fed four-cylinder engine that offers 138 hp and 148 lb-ft.
That mill is EPA-rated 26 mpg in city driving and 34 mpg on the highway. If you want to upgrade from the standard front-wheel drive setup to all-wheel drive, that will be $1,500 on top of the sticker price of any trim level. Speaking of which, the LS is the entry-level specification, the LT is the mid-ranger and the LTZ trim level is the one that has all the bells and whistles.
Mind you, even the LTZ can be further equipped with a suite of optional extras, so there's a lot of things to spend money on if you want everything onboard. In addition to that, the 2015 Chevrolet Trax offers 10 airbags, rearview parking camera and the MyLink media system with a seven-inch touchscreen.
Keyless entry together with a 60/40-split fold flat rear seats and a folding front passenger seat and up to 48 cubic feet of cargo space for hauling stuff are other highlight features. Furthermore, remote start and the OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi connectivity and Siri Eyes Free for iPhone users are some mentionable features for those that want to have the best Trax out there.
