Chevrolet has announced plans to introduce the 2015 Tahoe Patrol Police Vehicle (PPV) at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show next week.
Showcased for the first time at the 2013 SEMA Show, the vehicle is basically a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe fitted with additional police equipment, high-performance brakes, 17-inch steel wheels and an auxiliary battery.
The Tahoe PPV will be motivated by the GM’s 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 that delivers 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque via a six-speed automatic transmission tweaked for police work.
The manufacturer has yet to reveal other details about the SUV, but we’ll back with more info as the Chicago Auto Show kicks off in about a week.
Chevrolet will also introduce the 2015 City Express compact van and the Silverado CNG pickup truck alongside the 2015 Tahoe Patrol Police Vehicle.
