Chevrolet’s first Super Bowl XLVIII commercial will be promoting the brand new 2015 Silverado Heavy Duty pickup truck, which will arrive in GM dealerships later this year, alongside its GMC Sierra HD twin.
Called “Romance”, the brand new ad that will air during the 2014 Super Bowl broadcast on Fox on February 2 is about a man, his truck and the journey of a “stud-bull to an exciting, romantic rendezvous across town” in the 2015 Silverado HD. Filmed in Austin, Texas, the commercial is set to Hot Chocolate’s 1975 hit “You Sexy Thing”.
“We like how ‘Romance’ uses humor to show the power and capability of the truck and the interesting demands our customers place on their heavy-duty trucks,” said Tim Mahoney, Chevrolet’s global chief marketing officer.
As a brief reminder, the 2015 Silverado HD will be offered with a 6.0-liter V8 that runs on either gasoline or CNG, a regular Vortec V8 and a Duramax turbodiesel powerplant. The new truck will be able to haul 7,374 pounds of payload, 19,600 pounds on a conventional hitch, and 23,200 pounds on a fifth-wheel hitch.
