GM’s brand new mid-size pickup trucks, the Chevrolet Colorado and the GMC Canyon will be unveiled at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show later this year, Auto Guide reports, citing GM spokesman Otie McKinley.
General Motors has yet to announce an official launch date for the two vehicles, but said, last month, that the Colorado/Canyon pair “will join the all-new 2014 Silverado and Sierra 1500s, and the upcoming Silverado and Sierra HDs, to give Chevrolet and GMC the industry’s most comprehensive lineups of pickups, helping customers choose the right truck for their needs.”
On sale in other markets, the Chevrolet Colorado is powered by GM’s 2.5 and 2.8-liter turbocharged diesel engines, one of which is likely to become available on the US market as well.
Back in April, GM president Mark Reuss said the two vehicles will arrive with “a lot more fuel economy” and with obvious brand differentiations.
