For the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado mid-sized pickup truck, the golden bowtie now offers a $300 box delete package. Available only on the Colorado Work Truck 2WD extended cab model with the 305 horsepower 3.6-liter V6, this workhorse commands a little over $24k.
With first deliveries slated of the middle of April, the box-less 2015 Chevrolet Colorado is a good all-round package for business owners and fleet managers that need to customize the back of the mid-sized hauler to their own specifications.

Oh, and by the way, it’s the only box delete option currently available in the mid-size truck segment.

Ed Peper, the US vice president of GM Fleet & Commercial, declared that the box delete option is “ideal for utility companies requiring service bodies, as well as landscapers and other businesses needing the utility of a flatbed.” In addition to the deletion of the box, customer can also opt for deleting the rear seats to improve on the cargo capacity and the Chevrolet Colorado.

“The Colorado was developed with the upfitter industry in mind,” added Mike Jones, product manager for mid-sized pickup trucks, CNG and LPG-powered vehicles. If you’re curious about additional highlights covered in the Box Delete package, here’s a list of what really matters:

  • 2,200-pound payload rating
  • 6,001-pound gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR)
  • Temporary taillamps installed on the rear of the frame
  • Rear bumper deleted
  • Full-size spare tire included
  • Eight body mount provisions (four per frame rail)
  • Standard fuel filler position. Optional BJA-code service body fuel filler will be available and shipped loose in the cab for upfitter installation
  • Z82 trailering package
  • G80 locking differential.
