Chevrolet has announced that the 2015 City Express van will be introduced at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show next week.
Commissioned to “offer businesses the functionality and dependability they need to get the job done”, the 2015 City Express, the automaker’s first compact van, is actually a re-badged Nissan NV200 that will go on sale in the United States and Canada later this year.
Chevrolet declined to go into specifics until now, but we do know that the panel van will be built on the same assembly line as the NV200. Motivation is likely to be provided by Nissan’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a CVT gearbox. Fitted with dual sliding doors, the City Express will have 122.7 cubic feet of cargo space.
We’ll be right back with more details on Chevy’s new small van as soon as the vehicle breaks cover in Chicago.
