Back in April, Callaway introduced their take on the 2015 Corvette Z06. Sure, we got some enticing details, but the announcement missed the point, namely the output. Well, Callaway has now brought us the figures.
The 2015 Callaway Corvette Z06 treats its driver with 757 hp at 6,200 rpm and 777 lb-ft (1,053.5 Nm) at 4,500 rpm. We’ll remind those of you who have been out camping with no internet this year that the standard Z06 churns out 650 hp and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm).
As for how the new numbers translate on the road, the supercar now hits 60 mph in 2.8 seconds, with a quarter mile time of 10.5 seconds at 131 mph (210 km/h).
The upgrade was possible thanks to the installation of a larger supercharger, with the blower’s displacement increasing from 1,740cc to 2,300cc.
Even in stock configuration, there have been questions about the car overheating on the track (GM said that it's not the case), so Callaway turned to a triple-element intercooler configuration to keep the intake air temperature in check.
